What's in it?

This past winter, I discovered the best water bottle I've ever tried. My journey with this bottle began last fall in Europe, and I instantly knew it was a must-have for our Feed athletes.

Now, brace yourself as I dive into the details of this water bottle, which I'm overly enthusiastic (and admittedly a bit nerdy) about...

Race Day Bottles

I’ve dubbed it The Feed “Race Day” Bottles. Just one squeeze, and you’ll wonder how you ever managed without it. You will be using them in training and racing. They come in two colors: Feed Blue or Feed Yellow.

I consider myself quite the connoisseur of water bottles. This particular find was initially crafted to cut weight for cyclists racing the Tour de France. My attraction wasn’t solely for its weight-saving benefits. Crafted by an Italian company and produced in Croatia, it employs a sophisticated (and costly) technique that reinforces its top and bottom while significantly thinning the sides.

Smaller bottle, More Hydration

A bottle that offers a greater fluid capacity for its size. It’s astonishing how these bottles, especially in larger sizes (750ml and 950ml), can hold the same volume of liquid yet appear much shorter and more manageable than their counterparts, offering a substantial benefit in carrying more hydration without the bottles feeling cumbersome or excessively large.

Even better than the weight reduction is the “squeeze factor” derived from the Race Day Bottle’s slim and supple sides – so much so that I find myself squeezing it just for fun. However, the real perk is the increased fluid delivery with each squeeze.

More Flow = More Hydrated

The bottle features a high-flow, low-resistance valve, making it easy to hydrate with a quick sip or squeeze. I recently discussed this with two of our High-Performance Athletes, Micheala Thompson, and Skye Moench, who shared their excitement for the bottles.

For the performance-minded, let’s talk weight.

The 550ml bottle weighs a mere 54 grams, a significant drop from the usual 90 to 100 grams of standard bottles, translating to a 40-gram savings per bottle. This could mean an 80-gram reduction on your bike or hike, a difference many athletes invest heavily to achieve elsewhere.

Cleaning is a breeze.

I recommend Bottle Bright over the dishwasher for its self-cleaning, stain- and taste-removing properties while being food-safe. Just rinse, and you’re set.

That said, I often clean them in the dishwasher, placing them on the top rack to avoid any heat-induced warping due to the thin sides. But if any mishaps occur, fear not—reach out, and I’ll replace them for free.

A pro tip: yanking the nozzle off simplifies cleaning the inside, a task nearly impossible with other bottles.
