The question I've heard more than any other since starting The Feed: "There are so many options — how do I know what to buy?" So today I launched something to help cut through the noise — a single number that tells you what millions of Feed athletes actually think of a product.
My mission is to make The Feed the best place in the world to shop for performance wellness products.
That starts today with a new homepage designed to help you find what you need faster. But the real headline is Feed Score.
Since I started The Feed, the question I've heard most is some version of: "There are so many options. How do I know what to buy?"
We have over 5,000 products. Every athlete is different. And honestly, I created The Feed knowing there's no one perfect product for everyone. The only perfect product is the one that's perfect for you.
But today we launched something that helps answer that question in a new way.
Introducing Feed Score.
Feed Score is a number out of 100 that tells you what millions of Feed athletes actually think of a product. Not what the brand says. Not what one reviewer says. What the community thinks, based on four signals:
1. Do athletes try it, and buy it again? Of all the athletes who bought this product, how many came back to buy it again? For me, this is the one that means the most. You can't fake it. It just tells you: did athletes keep buying it after they tried it?
2. How many athletes are buying it? How consistently is this product selling right now? Popular things are popular for a reason, but we also want new products to rise quickly, so I made this just the last 14 days of trends. It keeps the best consistent sellers at the top, but lets a new hot product increase its Feed Score quickly.
3. Do athletes like it? What verified buyers are saying and how they are ranking the product. No fake reviews. These are real customer reviews.
4. Would you recommend it? What percentage of real buyers would tell a fellow athlete to try it?
Each product is scored relative to others in its category. Gels are compared to gels. Recovery drinks to recovery drinks. A high Feed Score means a product is outperforming its peers across all four signals, not just one.
One thing to know: the scale is logarithmic, similar to how Whoop does their strain score. A 97 is meaningfully higher than a 95. Getting close to 100 is next to impossible, and so far, no product has gotten there.
You can now sort any collection page by Feed Score to see what the community rates highest. Or find it on any individual product page.
I went through the top 10 in a few categories and was surprised by some, and others were exactly what I've been telling you
Carbs
Maurten Bars were the top-ranked source of carbs?! Even above Maurten Gels. They were tied with the Styrkr Bar 50. I would have thought a gel would have taken the top position here, but people really love both of these bars and their repurchase rate pushed them to the top. The data doesn't lie.
Hydration
No surprise here, Skratch is the top-ranked hydration product. Not because it has been the GOAT for 10 years (remember, Feed Score only looks at the last 14 days), but because people truly love this product, review it highly, and are loyal and buy it again. LMNT Variety Pack is a strong #2 with a 99 Feed Score.
Gels
Precision Gel is the top-ranked and the only 99 Feed Score Gel. Let’s go, Precision! Nice work. Precision has a cult following that is incredibly loyal. Maurten Gel 100 landed in second place with a 97 Feed Score.
Protein
I was happy, but not surprised, to see The Feed Lab Whey Protein at the top of the list. We worked so hard to dial in the flavor and keep the price at a great value for protein that can get so expensive. Pillar Collagen tied for the #2 spot. Also a great product.
Supplements
SwissRX Multi-Vitamin is sitting in the top 3, tied with First Endurance Multi-V. Both built specifically for the unique micronutrient needs of athletes who actually care about what's in their multi. If you are taking a multi (or need to start), pick one of these two.
Performance
Optygen HP is at the top with a 98 Feed Score, and right behind it is Foundation at 97. Two of my favorites. I was happy to see both Nitric Oxide Pro and SwissRX Synthesis (the two I personally recommend) with 96 Feed Scores.
Biggest Surprise!?
Coros Heart Rate Strap has a 99 Feed Score. It is really hard for a non-consumable (that doesn’t really have a repurchase) to score this high. Athletes love this heart rate strap.
Same goes for the USWE Race 2.0 in Bronze (the earth brown color). I would have guessed white or black, but with a Feed Score also hitting, strongly consider this as your new hydration pack for summer.
